Moderate don’t Eliminate.

With summer less then a month away everyone is on their last ditch attempts to “get right” for summer. Juice cleanses, paleo diets, hcg injections, starvation… people will do anything to fit the image they think they should have. The truth is everyone has body image issues and unfortunately our own images of ourselves is most often much more negative then the world sees us. The video is actually a very touching example.

Living in a world where everything is constantly being judged is rough, I myself have fallen victim to trend diets even though the very core of me doesn’t believe you should ever deny yourself of anything. Even with my gluten allergy sometimes my soul just needs a doughnut. Food is meant to be enjoyed and it should be a social experience. The key with food, as with most things in life is moderation and self-control. Eating food shouldn’t make you feel bad! It is one of the most sensual experiences a human can experience, you use all your five senses while how exciting is that. Unless you have a severe allergy, that makes you physically sick, have that cookie, just not ten. The stigma attached to food is so terrible when the true issue lies within an individuals self control.

When you exercise moderation you get to experience much more of what life has to offer. So if we can stop focusing on what we eat to make us look a certain way on the outside and start focusing on who we are internally and why we love ourselves I believe the world would be a much better place. When I started my catering company with my best friend he wanted to use this tag phrase I hated but I feel like it is the most appropriate ending to this blog post, “Eat Your Heart Out!”

my life has been a very interesting journey thus far. in my quarter century crisis im and not certain of much except that i love cooking and entertaining, and pleasing people is my passion. (wait that sounded a little funny) i am goofy eccentric, and love to laugh, in fact i often laugh at the most inappropriate times. i place high value in honesty and working hard. i don’t really believe in faking it until you make it, without some base knowledge or some sort of depth to your cause. i believe in making mistakes and trying everything once as long as you bring yourself no harm and no harm to others. i am a new age hippy, my words to live by are freedom, serenity, and love. i look for signs of the world and listen. i do judge, anyone who says they do not is a liar, but i use my judgements against you to reflect back on me to see how i can better myself. i hate constraints of our society, including grammar, punctuation, and recipes. i think fast except when it comes to numbers. the culinary world has always been and shall be my safe haven and outlet. i want to inspire, teach, and learn.
