El-Lay Eateries

I didn’t realize how much I missed Los Angeles until this past weekend on a very short visit home. There is something so special about the blue skies, palm trees, and even the traffic. The pace compared to the city of New York is slow and calm and everyone is just happier. It was as if I had been holding my breath the entire past month and a half in New York and once in LA I just got to breath.

Being back gave me a chance to dine at some of my favorite eateries, below I have listed MUST EATS while in Los Angeles. If you find yourself in my long lost city you absolutely have to go eat at this places.

Overland Café: 6.99 bottomless mimosas. Do I even need to say anything else? Decent breakfast food and a really good hamburger. Weekend brunch gets extremely crowded so call ahead and reserve your spot, perfect place to go on a sunny day (which is everyday in cali), leave with a champagne high and hit the beach.

In & Out: This is a pretty obvious staple of California and there is nothing, I repeat nothing like an protein style in and out double double, animal fries, and a lemonade. The simplistic approach to hamburger, lettuce, onion, thousand island, tomato all fresh and natural with the animal fries with thousand island, melty cheese and grilled onions is perfect any time of day.

LYFE kitchen: This is a new spot in Culver City but I already know it is soon to be super Hollywood. The feel of the whole place is very natural and organic and they have entire vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free menus which made me and all the other California hipsters very happy. They focus on clean good for you food and sustainable business practices, from the aesthetics to the staff it really is a feel good place. Please try the pineapple chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries your mouth will thank you.

my life has been a very interesting journey thus far. in my quarter century crisis im and not certain of much except that i love cooking and entertaining, and pleasing people is my passion. (wait that sounded a little funny) i am goofy eccentric, and love to laugh, in fact i often laugh at the most inappropriate times. i place high value in honesty and working hard. i don’t really believe in faking it until you make it, without some base knowledge or some sort of depth to your cause. i believe in making mistakes and trying everything once as long as you bring yourself no harm and no harm to others. i am a new age hippy, my words to live by are freedom, serenity, and love. i look for signs of the world and listen. i do judge, anyone who says they do not is a liar, but i use my judgements against you to reflect back on me to see how i can better myself. i hate constraints of our society, including grammar, punctuation, and recipes. i think fast except when it comes to numbers. the culinary world has always been and shall be my safe haven and outlet. i want to inspire, teach, and learn.
